Laser navigation is the most important feature of this machine. The X8 makes use of a laser mapping system that is more accurate than previous Eufy devices. It takes less time to create a comprehensive map of your home. It can also store multiple maps. This is ideal for multi-floored homes.

The X8 is a great vacuum cleaner on bare floors. It is able to effortlessly sling debris under the side brushes and into its 400ml dust bin. The X8's tyres, despite having a circular shape, are very adept in grabbing corners and edges. Our tests revealed that it was able to remove 90 percent of the fur from hard floors.

There's a mopping mode that uses the same water tank as the vacuuming. This is great for spills that aren't serious, but you can't control the amount of water it uses. However, it does an admirable job of removing pet hair, with a better speed of pickup than the Roborock S7.

3. Miele RX2

Awarded for its quiet and efficient home appliances Miele's RX2 robot vacuum comes with outstanding cleaning power, gorgeous design, and a great navigation. It has a few oddities in its operation that keep it from being named the best smart robot vacuum.

Similar to the latest models of iRobot like the RX2 comes with dual-sensor mapping that utilizes a LIDAR sensor to map an area and a pair of 3D scanning cameras that can detect and avoid obstacles (like furniture legs or pet waste) in real time. Once the room is mapped and assigned, you can assign virtual no-go zones and favorite sections to the robot. You can also initiate cleaning manually or change the cleaning mode, see live feeds from the onboard cameras and more from the main screen.

The RX2's sensors work well in registering furniture and other obstructions in real-time. The suction and sweeping capabilities are exceptional, getting rid of surface litter from medium pile carpeting as well as dust that has been deposited on floors. But it's not the most agile robot on the market. It's not the best climber, and it has problems with metal threshold transition strips.

We really like the 980 because it uses its iAdapt2.0 navigation sensors and its visual simultaneity localisation and mapping (or vSLAM) to remember your home's floor plan. It will use this data to create a consistent, efficient cleaning path in every cycle. The result is cleaner floors and a more efficient vacuum than most high-end robots.

The 980's other features include two multi-surface rubber brushes which grab dirt from carpets and hard floors, along with a spinning brush that sweeps debris into the bin of the robotic vacuum. The sensor for floor tracking helps it navigate between furniture as well as along edges and the stairs. Cliff Detect prevents the Roomba from falling. It can also return automatically to the base station for simple recharging in between sessions. Although the 980's battery life and bin size aren't as impressive as some other lefant robot vacuum vacuums, it's a solid and reliable machine that will keep your floors spotless for hours at a time.
